Zinc Metallization by Thermal Spraying
Exceptionally durable corrosion protection for metal structures, chassis and wheels.
ISO 9001:2015 Certification
Zinc metallization by thermal spraying is the most reliable mechanical method for providing long-term protection for metal structures, automotive parts and industrial components against corrosion, moisture and wear. The process combines precise melting of zinc wire with high-pressure application, creating an exceptionally strong protective layer mechanically “welded” to the steel.
At our workshop, we offer professional zinc metallization using specialist thermal spraying equipment, ensuring maximum durability and an ideal base for subsequent finishing.
Advantages of Zinc Metallization
- Superior corrosion protection – provides both barrier and cathodic (galvanic) protection for steel, preventing rust formation.
- No thermal distortion – unlike conventional hot-dip galvanizing, the process does not heat the entire component, eliminating the risk of warping precision parts and thin sheet metal.
- An ideal base for paint (duplex system) – the surface remains slightly rough and porous, ensuring excellent adhesion for powder coating or industrial airless spray painting.
- Adjustable coating thickness – the method allows precise application of a dense protective layer, from 50 to over 200 microns, depending on the project requirements and operating environment.
- Maximum mechanical resistance – the coating is exceptionally resistant to impact, twisting, friction and exposure to the elements in industrial or marine environments.

Questions and answers
How long does zinc metallization last?
When correctly applied and sealed with a suitable paint, the coating can provide reliable corrosion protection for over 20 years and up to 50 years, depending on the severity of the environment (ISO 12944).
Can thermal spraying be applied to rusty surfaces?
No. The surface must be thoroughly cleaned down to bare metal. Before metallization, we always carry out abrasive blasting (sandblasting) to preparation grade Sa 2½ to create the surface profile required for the zinc to adhere.
Why is metallization better than standard “cold galvanizing” paint?
Unlike zinc-rich paints applied with a brush or conventional spray gun, thermal spraying applies molten zinc under very high pressure. This creates a much thicker, denser and mechanically stronger layer that bonds firmly to the substrate and does not peel.
